How NOT To Cut Your Hair

So many celebs these days are just cutting up a hair storm and getting down with the pixie cut, but there is a way to do it, and a way to definitely not. This is an example of one of the worst hair cuts I have ever seen. Bowl cuts were not cute on boys in 5th grade, and are certainly not cute on what appears to be a model who drew the unlucky straw in the hair stylists chair.

And what is even more disturbing? This haircut was shown in Allure's 8 Hottest Short Celebrity Haircuts Right Now. The remaining 7 were simply adorable, but this one is just way off. There is nothing feminine about this cut. The shape of it is odd, and it only made stranger by the triangle shaped sideburns. This model deserves better, as does her beautiful face which this cut does NOTHING for!

An example of a short pixie cut done right? Look no further than another on that Allure list! Michelle Williams never seems to miss in the hair department- and this may just be one of her cutest looks yet! It's super short yet face framing pieces compliment her bone structure perfectly. And although I would never have the courage to do it, if I were going to cut my hair off, this is exactly how I would like it to look. Spunky and fresh, with a remaining sense of femininity!

Product Review: Principessa Beauty Bianco Breeze Dry Shampoo for Lighter Shades

On my constant quest for the perfect dry shampoo, I continue to look for one that will cover all the bases (oil soak-up, root coverage, and fresh scent). I always feel that I have found the latest and greatest, until another one comes along and steals my heart... and it has happened again! Principessa Beauty Bianco Breeze Dry Shampoo for Lighter Shades, I swear, may be my soulmate dry shampoo. Aside from the original and obvious attraction of its super cute packaging, the product inside is packing some major punch in the oil soakage department. Seriously- a few sprinkles of those on those day or two old roots and you are good to go!

And it is not just good for reviving day old locks- it is also opaque enough to cover some of those dark roots we are all hiding (and they make a version for darker shades as well!), and gives those roots a little lift as well! And for this little beauty's last trick, its lovely light and fresh scent covers up any sins from the day before! Its a winner in my book, and I cannot se how anyone could lose with this one. Luckily, the lovely ladies over at Dry Shampoo and Lock & Mane offer both shades of this amazing product. So please, do yourself a favor, and try it! A little power goes a long way, and you will not regret this :)

An Acne Miracle Drug?

Ok, so I know I have posted on here numerous times about my skin issues and how horrified I have been at zits turning up in my early 20's. I thought it was something that would go away after college, then after a year out of college, etc etc... all to no avail. I finally forced my way into a dermatologist appointment and forced him to take a closer look at it. He, unlike most people in my life, was refreshingly honest by saying how many whiteheads I had... thank you! I knew I was not crazy, and was convinced he would fix me right up.
He actually did  write me an Rx for a face wash, a medicated cream, and some sort of oral medication. Without going into to much detail, he told me to fill them, use the wash twice a day, the cream at night, and take one pill a day. Umm... what?
I have never taken an oral med for any skin issue, and I was immediately thinking Accutane (which I had secretly fantasized about...), but once I looked it up online I was even more worried. Spironolactone is a drug typically prescribed for heart failure and blood pressure- and yes, I was quite alarmed when I looked it up when I got home. However, I also read on to see that people, especially women suffering from hormonal acne, were having great success with this drug!
I have now been taking this pill once a day for about 3 months, and I could not be more thrilled with the results. After a slight initial breakout, my skin right now has zero pimples (knock on wood), and I only have a few red spots that are slowly clearing from previous pimples. Now I did ask the dermatologist how long I would be on this, and he said longterm. Many women who stop taking this drug will have their zits come back, as this drug works to suppress hormones, but not in a permanent way.
Although I did experience mild side effects, it was 100% worth it. I think this drug saved my skin, and I highly recommend it for women suffering from hormonal acne! Please speak with your doctor to see if this drug could be right for you!!
